A Person of Peace is not just a friendly and hospitable person. Many people in today’s society are kind and welcoming, but not a Person of Peace. A Person of Peace is one whom God has prepared to receive us into a community for the first time (Read Luke 10 or Matthew 10). And when we engage with them, they joyfully open up their home and communities to the Gospel. These are people who are receptive to Christ and the vision of getting His news out for others to hear, share, and grow.
Making disciples is easier if you’re working with God and the local people He has prepared in advance, rather than trying to force the Gospel on people who are not ready. (Read Acts 10). Finding a Person of Peace is essential to Disciple Making Movements. After much time in prayer, finding a Person of Peace is the next step. They help provide access to communities and help win over whole groups and families, not just individuals. We often find the Person of Peace to be the key person in reaching the rest of the community. And when that happens, the Kingdom impact becomes greater.
