BE MOVED: EPISODE 5

Finding an Ally

Scripture Focus

“Whatever town or village you enter, find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart.” —Matthew 10:11 (ESV)

Reflection

Relationships are at the heart of God’s work around the world. Often, it’s not about what we do alone but about the connections we make that multiply our efforts.

One powerful way this happens is through finding what we call a Person of Peace — someone who is open, welcoming, and receptive to the Gospel. This person can act as a bridge, connecting you to their community and amplifying your impact.

Jesus instructed His disciples to look for such people, those whose hearts were already being prepared by God. Today, this principle remains a key strategy in making disciples. A Person of Peace might be a coworker, a neighbor, or even a family member who shows a unique openness to spiritual conversations. By investing in these relationships, you can extend the reach of your ministry far beyond what you could do alone.

God is already at work in the hearts of those around you, preparing them for meaningful conversations and connections. As you seek to make an impact, keep an eye out for those allies who can help carry the truth of the Gospel further.

Questions for Personal Growth

  • Have you encountered a Person of Peace in your life or ministry — someone who was particularly open to spiritual conversations and who helped you reach others?
  • How can you be more attentive to identifying Persons of Peace in your community or social circles?

Action Step

Pray specifically for God to reveal a Person of Peace in your life or ministry. Be intentional about building a relationship with them, seeking to understand their spiritual questions, and being ready to share the Gospel when the opportunity arises. Trust that through this relationship, God can open doors to reach an entire community.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for the biblical model of the Person of Peace and for the way You prepare hearts to receive the Gospel. Help me to be attentive to those around me who are spiritually open and seeking truth. Guide me in building relationships with these individuals so that Your message can reach far beyond just one person. May Your Spirit work powerfully through these relationships to transform entire communities for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
