Steven is a father of five and grandfather of six whose life and leadership have been shaped by both deep loss and enduring hope. In 2020, after caring full-time for his wife of 28 years through a long illness, he stepped more fully into digital mission work—seeking ways to remain engaged in global ministry when travel was not possible. What began in a season of limitation became a catalytic insight: media can help identify spiritually ready people anywhere in the world, but lasting disciples are formed in real relationships.
For nearly three decades, Steven has served in church planting, leadership development, and multiplication. He produced the award-winning film Where Was God? and authored Storms of Life. In his season of being homebound and care-giving, he helped build online communities reaching millions worldwide and led digital outreach efforts across the globe. Yet his focus has never been online engagement alone. His passion is helping teams connect digital discovery to obedience-based, face-to-face disciple-making that leads to multiplication of disciples, groups, and churches.
Steven has worked with or trained dozens of faith-based organizations in media strategy, including teams within CRU, MII, YWAM, CBN, and YouVersion.
Steven puts disciple making and movements first – and media is simply a tool in the hands of disciple makers. His role within New Generations is to set up and scale processes that use media to accelerate the work of disciple making through media innovation, leadership development, and field driven training systems.
In 2022, Steven married Randie, and together they travel when possible to invest in leaders and expanding works among the unreached. His calling is simple and clear: help discover and develop catalytic leaders who will multiply disciples, churches, and movements—so that the gospel spreads through ordinary people in extraordinary ways.
