Ministry Endorsements
Movement for African National Initiatives (MANI) has embraced the DMM strategy as an appropriate approach in response to the age long crisis in church planting efforts among Africa's unreached people groups, characterized by churches which are not rooted in Biblical principles of disciple-making, and as such have not been impacting their contexts and surviving external and internal attacks. Through the ministry and encouragement of New Generations, African ministries, and ministers who have discovered and been applying the DMM principles have been enhanced and projected. It will be further appreciated if New Generations will continue to partner with MANI and the Church in Africa in fostering more intentional and collaborative efforts as we explore the numerous opportunities the Lord is affording us at the moment in ensuring that a more Christ-like Church emerges among the remaining unreached peoples of Africa, while the existing ones are renewed through, and refocused on, the more Biblical principles of discipling the nations through the DMM strategy.
While I appreciate and value New Generation’s legacy ministry under its former organization, it pales in comparison to the Kingdom magnitude of what the organization has pioneered in its recent history regarding church planting movements. We’ve benefited beyond description from this global focus. New Generation’s help and partnership got us started and the result has been tens of thousands of people becoming committed followers of Jesus. The transformative effect has been extraordinary, both in the here-and-now and for eternity.
New Generations has been on the frontline in seeing the Kingdom of God powerfully breaking into places formerly thought of as hard and difficult, but maybe even more importantly, they have excelled at passing this vision along to others. New Generations has become a global leader in training churches, organizations and believers around the world to dream bigger, to pray more, and to engage in the beautiful, yet arduous task of launching sustaining, reproducing movements of discipleship that our Lord has commissioned us with.
There was clear evidence of obedience based discipleship training in all nine of the people groups assessed (in Sierra Leone) through widespread use of The Discovery Bible Study methodology. This methodology does not only provide exposure to the gospel, but it provides a clear impact on faith, practice and behavior of those studying and obeying the Bible resulting in transformed believers consistent with evangelical faith and practice.
“New Generations has been a much-valued mentor to World Missions and Evangelism, Inc. in our pursuit of the Disciple Making Movement strategy in Latin America. New Generations has been indispensable to what has become one of the fastest-growing DMMs in Latin America. Beginning with about 22 people in 2008 (including Honduran national leaders and Cross-cultural Missionaries), the work has multiplied to nearly 70,000 people involved in new discovery studies and churches, 26 generations deep....with over 54,000 conversions and over 50,000 water baptisms....with fruit in over 50 denominations and networks. WME cannot overstate its debt and gratitude to New Generations. Simply stated, without the mentoring and help from New Generations, this Disciple Making Movement would not exist!"
The emergence of New Generations as a champion of church and disciple-making movements around the world has been one of the great breakthroughs in world evangelization of the past century. My prayer is that New Generations will continue to embrace and advance this God given role at the forefront of world evangelization as they prayerfully consider their future.
New Generations has been one of the global leaders in catalyzing Disciple Making Movements, but 6600 Unreached People Groups remaining, as well as billions of other lost people around the world, we must all pray for and work towards far more than we can ask or imagine at this time.
Because of the courage of New Generations there are significant and identifiable movements happening across Africa and in many other places in the world. I was able to channel my passion through a sister agency, Final Command Ministries, in a similar direction. Candidly, I do not know what would have happened, or how we would have been able to gain early traction if it had not been for the prior and visionary work of New Generations.
Disciple Making Movements (DMM) are the only comprehensive set of strategies proven both in Scripture (see Acts 19:10 about reaching 15 million people), and today to reach people faster than population growth. DMM are also more holistic and transformative than any other approach as the organically growing network of disciples / churches love and obey Jesus by feeding the poor, helping the orphan and widows, making disciples of many others, and healing the sick. New Generations has been a leading pioneer in the application of strategy around the world.
New Generations has led the way in adopting strategies that lead to movements.
What New Generations has accomplished from its beginnings to now has been quite impressive to me. It seems clear to me that the Lord has found them to be faithful stewards of the talents He has given to them, and has expanded their small beginnings, to becoming one of the most fruitful training and mentoring ministries focused on catalyzing movements of people to becoming obedient followers of our Lord Jesus Christ in this generation. I personally have met and/or stayed with some of their movement catalysts, and their personal lives as well as the way they have used compassion ministries as access ministries, have deeply impacted my own personal ministry in the Arab world. It has been a great delight and a blessing for me and my organization to partner with New Generationsover over the years.
The impact that New Generations has had on the world is impossible to fathom. By bringing clarity to the focus on making disciples who make disciples, by shining a crystal clear light on reproducible principles, and by articulating the vision in a super-unselfish way, New Generations has ignited a fire that is sweeping through organizations, churches, and unreached peoples worldwide. When you help New Generations, you're helping a world full of other organizations which have benefited from their ministry.
“The humble improve,” that’s what I learned from New Generations. While many of us have not been satisfied with the results of our own ministries; New Generations did something to make a difference. They kept asking, “How can we improve? How can we do this better?” That led them back to the Bible, to discover disciple- making principles that were “hidden in plain sight.” And that led us at Frontiers to learn much from these brothers and sisters. Thank you, New Generations! You helped us move from “what if” to “what is” in seeing movements of Muslims coming to faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.
New Generations has contributed to our understanding of mission and going beyond ourselves as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission. You have helped us in thinking about pioneering into nations with unreached people groups. In particular, the Discovery Bible Studies have been a tool for us in many places, both in the Western world, and in pioneer situations. It is such a simple dynamic, but has been used with great effect by many different people.
From a Vision 5:9 perspective, New Generations has been a strategic partner in Vision 5:9 to achieve our goal of multiplying churches among all Muslim peoples.

New Generations is taking to heart Jesus' Commission to "teach them to obey all I have commanded", putting a premium on discipleship that focuses on obedience and sharing how the Kingdom is impacting your world. The results are transformational -- not just to individuals, but to entire communities, people groups, and nations. New Generation's focus is not a new method or program, rather it is the core of being a follower of Jesus.
I have observed in my years of service with CAPRO (an indigenous African church planting network) that God has always connected us with a ministry at "kairos" moments when He wants to take us unto a new level. He brings people, organizations and individuals our way. New Generations articulated for us the concept of "man/woman of peace"; Discovery Bible Study, woven with obedience, which is an effective discipleship making among oral peoples. Majority of unreached people not only in Africa but also in the world are oral and that is why New Generations has contributed greatly in Church Planting among both UUPGS and MUPGS. CAPRO has not only invited New Generations to train our Church Planters in the strategy of CPM now DMM but also all to CAPRO leaders. My prayer is that the global local Church leaders will be introduced to DMM in the days ahead that could accelerate the finishing of the task of Great Commission.
We believe God aims to accomplish His mission through His Church, but often it is difficult to find useful tools and training that actually empower the people of the local church to be part of making disciples of Jesus that become Jesus movements. At Grace, we've found the training and resources from New Generations not only practical, but also inspiring as we mobilize our congregation. For example, our outreaches with refugee communities have become far more strategically focused on how to see whole families and communities follow Jesus rather than aiming at one-off "conversions" in programmatic environments. The fruit has been very encouraging. We are highly grateful and recommend New Generations just as highly.
The world is quickly changing. Regrettably, our Western mission methods have not kept pace. Evangelists, Church Planters, and Disciple Makers from the Global South are ready and able to serve in places and among people that Western missionaries simply are unable to reach. This is what I love about New Generations: they are mobilizing Kingdom workers that would otherwise be sitting on the sidelines. Their work is organic. It is relationship driven. It is messy. It is working.
