Matthew and his wife Heather married in 2000 and are the proud parents of two adult children who love the Lord. From 2009-2011, they lived overseas in a Muslim context, which they describe as the best training ground for their life and ministry. In 2011, they launched a collegiate ministry to apply those lessons at home, but by 2012 split time between it and bi-vocational pastoring in a traditional church. After a decade in vocational ministry, they surrendered to God’s better plan, leaving those roles to pursue Disciple Making Movements (DMM) full-time.
Matthew came to faith in 1997 through reading his Bible and a friend’s witness. He now travels globally, preaching, teaching, and coaching individuals, churches, and missionaries on making disciples who make disciples, in line with Jesus’ command and the early church model (2 Timothy 2:2). A pioneer at heart, he brings optimism to reforming Western church systems for reproducible discipleship.
Heather grew up in a strong Christian family, gave her life to Jesus at youth camp, and was baptized in 1992. Passionate about missions, she joined short-term trips and a long-term family stint in a closed Muslim country. Heather now disciples women and children worldwide in DMM practices, while managing behind-the-scenes ministry operations.
