Trusting God During Loss

Stories of Transformation

My name is Ramesh, and I’ve spent many years working to expand God’s kingdom.

I began a Disciple Making Movement (DMM) training program at a friend’s house, where over twenty people attended. One of these attendees, my friend Kamal, was so moved by the vision and purpose of God that he committed his life to guiding his family toward heaven as well.

During this time, Kamal’s niece, Anika, was going through a difficult season. Her 10-year-old son was very ill, and the doctors confirmed both his kidneys were damaged, meaning he would need long-term treatment. They told her that if it was God’s will, he might recover. Heartbroken, Anika sought a second opinion, but the results were the same: her son’s kidneys were in bad condition, and recovery would be a long process. Anika then tried another hospital, hoping for some improvement, but found no relief there.

Seeing her distress, Kamal shared the story of Jesus with her, assuring her that Jesus could heal her son. This led Anika to start attending church regularly at Kamal’s house. Miraculously, her son began to recover soon after. Moved by this experience, both Anika and her husband chose to be baptized and even began a church in their own home. Anika started sharing the story of Jesus with her family and neighbors, creating a fellowship among them.

However, her son’s health began to worsen again, and he was taken to a nearby city for treatment. Sadly, he passed away shortly afterward. This loss brought deep grief to the family and congregation, as everyone had been praying for his healing and believed God would fully restore him. During this time, Anika remembered the story of Job and said that her son was now at rest with God, free from suffering. Her strong faith in God’s plan deeply moved me, and we all found comfort in her trust in God’s will.

Today, Anika—who is from a specific caste—shares God’s story with her caste and others, encouraging people to put their faith in Him. She is now a fourth-generation leader, hosting a Discovery Bible Study in a nearby village and leading a church in her own home.
