Colossians 4:2-3
“Devote yourselves to prayer…praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned.”
Paul is a Roman prisoner, but he hasn’t lost perspective on his calling. His prayer request is for God to provide a Kingdom opportunity in the midst of difficult circumstances. The results are stunning! The Gospel spreads, throughout the praetorian guard (military elite), Caesar’s household (center of political power), and to everyone else! I am not sure how far ‘everyone else’ extends, but it is clear, Paul’s perspective on his circumstances coupled with prayer worked!
