My name is E, and my calling has always been toward the forest people. For several years now, I have been working with the Bayaka people. The specificity of these people is known by all.
One day my team and I decided to go win souls for the Lord. It is often in these conditions that the Lord demonstrates His power. I have always been compassionate with these people, and I believe that this is one of the most effective tools that allows me to continue, despite the obstacles.
Having lived among them, my idea was to test a contextual and targeted Disciple Making Movement (DMM) concept. These people are plagued by idolatry, drunkenness, and many other sins. So, I chose a Bible study that concentrates on these sins. This Discovery Bible Study (DBS) took place on a Sunday evening. We read Galatians 5:13-23 (walk by the Spirit, not by the flesh). By emphasizing these key points, the Lord touched the hearts of many participants about idolatry, drunkenness, and witchcraft. The Word of God says that those who practice these things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
With the participatory small group feature of DBS, individuals are directly involved. This feature always produces a truly wonderful effect. Many confessed their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We prayed for them and then they made the decision to give up their flesh-driven life and be born again through baptism.
DMM offers opportunities that are not found in mass evangelism and for that reason, may the glory go to our God.
