Former Addict Plants 7 Churches

Stories of Transformation

A Disciple Making Movement (DMM) worker went to a South Asian village. There he found that a local plant was grown as a drug and openly sold in the market. When talking to the local people, he purposefully mentioned that he had once been an addict himself. He said that now he is completely free from drugs through his relationship with God.

A leader in the community revealed that he was selling the drug and was addicted himself. After several weeks of studying the scriptures together, the local leader experienced freedom himself. He stopped selling the drug. Then he led others to do the same.

Remarkably, the DMM worker eventually saw seven churches start up in neighboring villages; all because he shared his story.
