Auditory-Preferred Women Making Disciples

Stories of Transformation

My name is Arjun*, and I have been actively spreading Disciple Making Movements (DMMs) across my district for many years. Recently, I had the opportunity to conduct a training program at Deepak’s home in a neighboring district. We gathered with a group of about 12 women and 9 men, including Kavita and Anjali, who were eager to learn about the movement.

Deepak had previously shared the message of the Lord Jesus with Kavita. This led both Kavita and Anjali to attend the DMM training at Deepak’s home. During the sessions, they came to a profound realization—they were not just believers in Jesus, but disciples. And as disciples, they were called to make other disciples. However, a question weighed on their minds: how could audible-preferred women like them make disciples?

During our training, I was sharing stories of the Lord Jesus in the local language. I encouraged the group to listen closely, memorize these stories, and then share them in their own words with others in their community. This approach resonated deeply with Kavita and Anjali. They quickly memorized several stories and began narrating them to friends and family in their village.

Before long, two or three Discovery Bible Study (DBS) groups were formed, led by these two remarkable women. They invited Deepak and me to visit their DBS groups. When we arrived, I encouraged them, shared the story of baptism, and invited the villagers to take this next step in their faith journey.

Today, Anjali has become the leader of a third-generation church in her village. Likewise, Kavita now leads a fourth-generation church in her village.

The transformation of these two women, who once doubted their ability to make disciples, has led to countless others coming to know the Lord Jesus and finding salvation. Their story is a powerful testament to obeying Jesus’ call to make disciples who make disciples.
