Nia had never read a book in her life—until she joined a Discovery Bible Study (DBS). As she learned to read through the study, she also discovered something even greater: a relationship with Jesus. Over the past year, her faith has deepened, and she has consistently prayed for her husband, Kai, to fully surrender his life to Christ.
Kai has been engaged in the DBS as well. He reads Scripture, prays, and has learned about God—but something has held him back from taking that final step of faith. Then, a moment of crisis changed everything.
A few months ago, a massive brush fire, carried by strong winds, swept toward their Native American reservation. The fire threatened to destroy their home and community. In desperation, Nia cried out to God, asking Him to change the direction of the wind and send the fire away. Before she had even finished praying, the wind suddenly shifted, carrying the fire away and sparing their home and the surrounding area from devastation.
Kai stood in shock, eyes wide. He turned to the disciple-maker who had been walking with them and exclaimed, “God hears us! But we don’t listen to Him!”
Kai’s words echoed through the reservation. People began talking, and even the tribe’s shaman heard the story. This moment wasn’t just a personal revelation—it became a testimony that rippled through the entire community.
Prayer is more than just words—it is the power of God moving in the lives of His people. This fire may have been extinguished, but the fire of faith is now spreading.
Would you join us in prayer? Pray for Kai as he wrestles with his decision to follow Jesus. Pray for Nia’s faith to continue growing. And pray that this miraculous moment sparks a movement of disciples across the reservation.
God hears us. Are we listening to Him?
