Thanks a Million! (or 2)

Stories of Transformation

“Thanks a million” is a phrase we use to express the sentiment that we are really, truly grateful for what someone has done for us. It doesn’t mean that we sat down and counted a million individual things for which we are thankful. But what if it did? What if we actually had a list where there were 1 million actual things that God had done for us? Would the simple phrase, “Thanks a million” be sufficient to express the deep gratitude of our heart? I don’t think so.

What if the list was 2 million? At the end of September, that is exactly what happened. By the awesome power of God, our reports indicate that since March 2005 we have documented 2,012,624 new followers of Jesus! It absolutely blows my mind to think that on average, this represents 335 people per day entering the Kingdom of God. And the super incredible thing is that each one of these people was spiritually born with the DNA to reproduce and keep this amazing momentum going!

Luke 15:7 says, “There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 who need no repentance.” If that is the case, then heaven must really be rocking as page after page of 2 million names are added to the Lamb’s Book of Life (Rev. 21:27).

What praise is adequate for this? Nothing! Nothing we could possibly say would be sufficient to adequately describe the phenomenal work of God to make this happen. All we can do is stand in awe and reflect the glory back to the One who has brought this to pass.

Jesus said, “By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples” (Jn. 15:8). To God belongs the glory, but the credit on the ground goes to the tens of thousands of ordinary people who are proving to be true disciples of Jesus as they faithfully obey Him and work hard to get their friends and family to do the same.

Thanksgiving is a time to count your blessings and acknowledge that they are gifts from God. You, dear friends, are a gift from God. Without your prayer, encouragement, and support, this great day would not be possible. This Thanksgiving as we reflect upon what God has done…Ps. 26:7:

“Proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving and declare all Your wonders.”
